A Special Family Dinner

On March 20, 2010, Jeremy and I spent the evening in Casa Grande with my family. We got to enjoy one last delicious family dinner before Kaitlin heads off to Michigan for graduate school at Western Michigan University.

On February 22, 2010, my paternal grandfather Papa, came down to Tucson with his lady friend Jean and my sister, her boyfriend Arron, Jeremy, and me met them for dinner. We always have so much fun when we get together.

Revisiting Valentine's Day...

I have to blog about Valentine's Day, because it was extra special. One of my best friends Allison and her hubby Mason came to our house in Tucson and we spent Valentine's Day together. I am just so grateful to have her back in my life. She has and always will be so special to me.

Crazy Cats...

With all 4 of our cats at my side right now, I have to take a minute and blog about our faithful boy kitties. Each of them has their own personality. Chandler and Joey were adopted before Jeremy came into my life. They were adopted together on April 23, 2004 from the Humane Society in Tucson, AZ. These boys helped me get over the loss of my childhood cat Chuck who had passed away days earlier. They also helped me finish my last two years of my undergraduate career by being by my side late at night when I would be studying. Chandler was 7 months old when I adopted him, and he is a short-haired Orange Tabby. Joey was only 8 weeks old when I adopted him, and he is a Russian Blue. When I moved in with Jeremy in February of 2006, they immediately fell in love with him. That was such a relief for me. :) Then in August of 2006, during a trip to PetsMart, the Humane Society was there with cats that needed homes. That is when we fell in love with Horatio, a 4.5 month old long-haired Orange Tabby. The following month, for my birthday, we adopted Grissom. He is the 4th and final member of the Sasser Feline Family. Grissom was 3 years old when we adopted him. He was a member of the Humane Society's Last Chance Program. I think the name of the program says enough. He was lucky to be adopted, and we were blessed to have found him.
All 4 boys bring so much personality to our home. Chandler is our hunter. He also keeps the other cats in line. Chandler sleeps on my pillow every night, even though he does not do a good job of sharing it. Joey is our moody little angel. His nickname is Little Bug, even though he is our 17 pound bundle of joy. Joey follows me around the house; he is very much a mommy’s boy. He can be very talkative and he enjoys playing in the water bowl. Joey is also known for his goofy sleeping style. He prefers to be upside down or on his back. :) Horatio is also talkative he responds when spoken to by meowing in the form of a question. Jeremy describes him as our “mini kitty-teddy bear with an insatiable appetite for all foods ranging from lunch meat to broccoli and even cotton candy”. If you are not watching, he will drag a steak or piece of chicken off of your plate. Horatio loves guests in our house and he too is a hunter. Grissom has always been the special cat of the bunch. He loves his brothers and enjoys playing with them. He mainly keeps to himself. All 4 cats love to play in our backyard when we watch them. They have their own area in the garden where they can enjoy freshly grown cat grass and cat nip. These boys are spoiled, but they bring so much joy to our lives.

Jeremy's 27th Birthday!

March 11 was Jeremy's 27th Birthday. We ended up celebrating it on March 12 and 13th. On Friday March 12th, we went to Ra' with my sister Kaitlin, and her boy friend Arron. We had such a wonderful time. I am going to miss my sister so much when she moves to Western Michigan in a few weeks for graduate school. Jeremy loves Ra'. We are both HUGE fans of Sushi. The food is always amazing there.

Then on Saturday, March 13, my mom had a little cake for him at their house in Casa Grande, AZ. Jeremy is happy at 27, and I think his birthday celebrations were a success. :)

Fun with Jeremy's Family...

This past weekend of March 6-7, 2010, we spent up in Peoria, Arizona visiting Jeremy's three half sisters and his parents who were visiting from Emmett, ID. We had an especially great time staying with Kelley and Courtney. Kelley took us to see a fun 80's cover band on Saturday night. Then on Sunday, we got to spend time with the entire family. I was especially happy getting some of my sewing questions answered by my mother-in-law. :)
